River Road Asset Management Exceed $1.5 Billion in Assets

LOUISVILLE, KY - - River Road Asset Management, LLC (“River Road”) announced today that assets under management have exceeded $1.5 billion. River Road is a Louisville, Kentucky-based asset manager specializing in value-oriented equity portfolios. The firm was launched by former employees of Commonwealth Bank & Trust Company and SMC Capital, Inc in April, 2005 with $30 million in assets.

“Investor interest in River Road has been encouraging,” said Jim Shircliff, River Road’s CEO and Chief Investment Officer. “I am especially pleased with the quality of clients we have attracted.” Mr. Shircliff added that River Road’s clients are typically large institutional investors, including corporations, pension funds, and third-party sub-advisory engagements.

River Road offers separately managed accounts in the firm’s value-oriented small cap and dynamic equity income investment styles. River Road President, Andrew Beck commented that he was pleased by the growth of the firm’s Dynamic Equity Income style. “We thought the firm’s initial growth would be driven almost exclusively by our small cap portfolio, which has had a strong eight-year performance record” said Mr. Beck. “Investors from around the world, however, have invested more than $1 billion into our Dynamic Equity Income strategy.”

Mr. Beck credits River Road’s rapid growth to both strong investment performance and distribution opportunities made possible through River Road’s partner, ABN AMRO Asset Management Holdings, Inc (AAAM). “ABN AMRO has been a terrific partner, driving growth in global markets we could have never tapped on our own.”

In 2005, Chicago-based ABN AMRO Asset Management Holdings, Inc. acquired a 45% interest in River Road. AAAM is part of the asset management operations of ABN AMRO N.V., a Netherlands-based global banking and financial services company with offices in more than 60 countries.

The firm’s strategies are available to retail investors through two mutual funds offered by ABN AMRO. The mutual funds trade under the symbols ARSVX (Small Cap Value) and ARDEX (Dynamic Equity Income).

Investments made in small-cap companies may entail greater risks than investments in larger more established companies. Small-cap companies generally have limited product lines, resources and management experience. They may trade less frequently and experience greater volatility.

Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the ABN AMRO Funds carefully before investing.
